It’s time.
Time for experiment, time for filthy hands, time for failure and little surprises.
Time for working on and with paper, with ink, pigment, new materials.
Time for an other color, apparently.
Two drawings, ‘sketches’ are to be seen and for sale this summer at the first lustrum exhibition of ‘Tekenkabinet’, in museum Waterland, Purmerend (NL). (And from august also on the website of the Tekenkabinet)

They are sketches of my latest paintings, this autumn to be seen at Galerie Nasty Alice.
But I am still working on that, so later more.
Because now – it’s time to rest.
Allthough…. the chances are that my creative process gets a spurt again.
You recognize this?
Second day of your holiday, you stressed your but out to get everything ready at work, and at home in the same stress you packed your car, bags or suitcase and you’re finally on the way…
No busy mind at all…. suddenly there is emptiness in your head.
And… SPACE!
And with the appearance of this space, suddenly you get the greatest ideas. Finally you know how to change your garden in the most loveliest paradise. You get the most beautiful inspiration for your paintings or get a brilliant new plan for – oops, still present – your work.
My advice: You can’t use and realize the idea at that very moment? Can’t pick up your painting brush at that time, can’t pick your shovel to change your garden, or do anything else with the idea? – park it.
Write it down and let it go. To pick it up again at the moment you CAN use it.
(and writing it down is essentially to let it go totally, to take it off your head)
Otherwise your mind has a new thing to chew on, and you still don’t grab all these precious moments of your holiday.
Anyway, I wish you a very good summerholiday.
With or without creative processes, experiments, dirty hands or small surprises….: ENJOY!
With heART warming greetings!
Karin
