For this girl it is very simple.

Karin Hoogesteger investigates in her paintings how we are formed as a human being by our immediate environment and society in which we grow up. This painting is about fantasy and imagination. For the artist, essential and yet obviously a valuable possession for children. In our society and our education the importance of imagination is highly underestimated. But there is a counter movement emerging. One that places creativity and problem resolution back on top of the competency list.

Fortunately, because as Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to understand and to know. Logic will get you from A to B. imagination will take you everywhere. It is an example of the future. ”
