New artist book published: My Dearest.

When you buy one of the 41 miniature portraits, you recieve the book for free! Look at the gallery for all the images. The sizes of the miniatures vary from 6 to 20 cm.

MY DEAREST   My Dearest is a series of 41 miniature portraits, with an average size of 10 x 10 centimeters. When you look at the portraits, you will soon feel as looking in a personal photo album or watching someone’s beloved relatives, each carefully framed for on a side table. The frames round most of the work enhance that feeling. The work is about an emphasis of the personal, opposite the universal idea of the portrait. In decorated picture frames the displayed ‘loved ones’ are watching you. They all carry the same title: “My Dearest”. There are several women depicted, children, a boy, even a dog. Karin wants to say that the depicted portraits may be individuals, but the fact that they are all in a frame placed by someone who felt something special for them makes them in a certain manner the same… Unique and yet similar. With the portraits a booklet is published which contains all 41. With each portrait comes a copy of the publication. In this way, the series always stay connected, even if they are hung on other locations after sale.
